Default Did i build it wrong?

i built a 6.0 aluminum with ls3 heads and a tvs 1900. 2.8 upper, and rear cogg overdrive pulley set. lower intake was ported to match the heads, heads only had minor polish work. block was built with stock crank, forged rods and +11.00cc 4.005 pistons. should net 9.1:1- 9.5:1. btr positive displacement stg 3 cam, (227/244, .614/.595 115 lsa.) this runs on pump gas, e85 not available in the area.

some people have said i should of kept cr ration higher at 10.5 and ran less boost, others have said low compression and high boost is just fine.

thoughts?

I say lower compression with more boost trumps higher with less.

It's perfect for a pump gas street engine.
More power to be gained from more boost than compression, plus for a pump gas street car you have a cushion should you get a bad tank of fuel.
Pay attention to your intake temps as that little 1900 is gonna work hard to fill that 6.0 and it'll let you know when its tapped out with high IAT's.

I don't think you have done anything bad. Ought to run just fine. Just know that your street manners and fuel eco would probably have been a little better with the higher c/r. Around sea level, your boost level with that blower drive ratio will be up there pretty good. Probably either side of 14 psi. That's going to tax your intercooler system pretty hard. A bigger heat exchanger and a higher capacity intercooler pump would help. You're also probably going to be fighting belt slip if you're just running a six rib belt. I think you're going to want a bigger snout pulley (less boost) when it's all said and done.

So 1 point of compression is worth 2 to 4 percent of power increase. So in a 500hp engine at 4 percent is 20hp. 1 psi of boost will usually eclipse 20hp by a good amount So is it really that important. I got caught up at one time in my head with the compression being low in my LSX376 at only 9 to 1 So I messed with headgaskets and chamber volume to raise it to 10.2 to 1. Cost me about 1000 bucks since I went to studs, cometic gaskets and the head decking. Made not a **** difference in feel of the engine or et. Just saying.

I mean it's a 6.0 and a PD blower so it's not gonna drive like a 4 cylinder.

I think you did it right with such a small blower and pump gas. If you had a bigger blower or E85 the higher compression would be the answer all day. But that little 1.9 is going to have some high IAT when pushed and the lower compression will give you a good "safety factor" on pump gas. As John outlined it's still a 6.0 with a PD blower. It should boogie just fine haha.

A lot of people are running 6.0L LSAs. LY6s were made for this swap. 9.6:1 IIRC. Just put in a cam of choice with a ZL1 lid a cgheap HX (aluminum) with -12 lines Once you use to the power, toss on a 2.55 blower pulley. Look at Ryeguys L92 /LSA build. Over 600 at the wheels. He built a solid power plant.
