Headgaskets
Headgaskets I bolted a set of heads on my engine a while back and have never even installed in the car but came across a better set of heads and was wondering if I remove the old set would I need to buy new headgaskets or just swap heads or copper coat the old gaskets tia
Yes see above. I replace because the coating comes off the gaskets when removed and that coating helps seal the head to the block. Like 3 windows said, I would be mad at myself for having to pull the whole thing apart again because I was being cheap by reusing head gaskets.

So to be clear, the engine has never been fired with those head gaskets? They've only been torqued down? No temperature cycling, exposure to combustion pressure cycles, vibration, etc?
