Default Newb help with IAT sensor

Planning on procharging. Have a few questions.
The twin 4.5 has the iac in the steel plenum merge. I want to plug that and put IAT in front of throttle body where the rubber coupler is. I’m wanting to do this with plans to run meth, probably a 10gph. How are people doing this? Is there a type of compression fitting bung I can use in the rubber coupler? Bob from brute speed said I’d have to figure something out from a hardware store.

They make a bulkhead type fitting for that in rubber, but I wouldn't do that, as I had one blow out under boost. If there is a metal tubing leading to the rubber coupler, I would put it there. You can weld a thicker piece on the steel
tubing and drill/tap it to 1/8".

see I plan on putting the meth in the metal tube where a MAF would be, is that too close? If it is I can use that for the IAT bung and put the meth in the neck of the plenum.

Ideally you want the IAT as close to the valve as possible and the intake is your best bet. I put mine behind the TB in the EVaP port on the NNBS intske. You also want as much time pre TB to inject so it has enough time to atomize and mix in the air (helping disperse and Cool efficiently). What you don’t want to do is soak the sensor so if the sensor is in the intake them push the nozzle 3ft or more away.

they sell fitting that you cut a hole and use a bulkhead fitting with a metal back and when you tighten the nut on the outside it clamps and secures plus gives you a port for a sensor or nozzle. Can’t remember where I saw them though. Depending on your size and location I got a 3” OD SS tube about 3” long and it came with three 1/8NPt bungs welded in for meth so you just splice it in a straight run or near a coupler and boom 3 ports. Think I got it from siliconeintakes.com or something and it was relatively cheap.

okay here’s my plenum. I planned on putting IAT where my finger is. ..that’s what 4 inches from tb or so..or should I drill and tap the intake throat behind the throttle body?…The procharger plenum has an IAT bung in the merge that I was going to plug and not use. It’s biased on the driver side charge pipe. Can I run my meth nozzle into that or will it have dispersion problems? I’m only going to run a 10gph nozzle on a progressive setup. On twin setups how do people run their meth nozzle? Does it matter what side it injects on? I’d think on a front mount you’d have less dispersion issues but being twins the airflow is cut in half across the charge pipes…Also, I planned on soaking the sensor. Lol

EDIT: I planned on using something like THIS in my coupler off of the merge, it would only give me about 3-4” to the IAT and maybe 7” to the TB
