What is the advantage of 50/50 Meth + water?
Water is just detonation resistance. Meth adds octane as well. Regular blue -20 wiper fluid is 70/30 or 70% water and 30% meth and is cheaper and words great. I used to run 50/50 but after a few gallons I was like nope, wiper fluid for the last few years and all good on 15lbs on cheap 93 pump.
The advantage is less or no flammability. Any time I have run meth injection, I opted to take the risk of 100% meth, but be aware that is an enormous risk over using 50% water. Also, water is the ultimate form of detonation prevention. Enough water will obviously kill all power, but just the right amount can be helpful. Think the difference between being thirsty for a glass of water vs drowning. Your engine can sometimes operate in much the same manner. On the other hand, water has zero fueling capability, which is why meth is usually involved. In addition, you want your add on spray to be fully vaporized when it enters the engine. Meth does this at a much lower temperature than water, so that also plays a hand in deciding your mix.
