Like awesome said it will open but the whole point is that if you run a 7lb spring and boost reference it, it will open at 7 lbs. This depends on a bunch of factors like placement, gate size etc. But that’s the theory behind it. You can just run it and see what it opens at, but if it’s not the boost level you want, you’re going to end up boost referencing it anyways.
Do you have a wastegate you can physically look at? If you look at the gate, imagine the pressure of the exhaust pushing against the gate, and the spring on the other side, then, if you put a boost reference to it, think about how that would change pressure against the gate. What is going to be more stable?
