Is there a way to figure out what size blow off valve you need for your certain application?

Just go with the 50mm, you'll be good.

I bought the 50Mm but have yet to install it, on 10PSI it hasnt been a problem yet.

I found some guidlines when I was replacing my BoV but I don't remember where. 38 mm was a bit small for my application. Somewhat larger than necessary shouldn't be a problem.
