Ok guys I am in the process of building a LS427 it’s a Dart block 4340 CCW forged crank Billet Rods and Forged pistons. I was originally building the shortblock for 6-700 dual stage nitrous kit. Will run on C23 I was wondering if instead of going nitrous if I could turbo my engine instead? Top End is going to be a set of 6 bolt 11 degree LS3 style heads that flow just under 400cfm at .650 lift. I am doing the CID 4.5 intake already have Johnson short travel lifters and will be getting a custom spec cam. Also doing a Dailey Dry Sump. This will be a street legal race car type setup. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I would put a boost cam in it, convert over to Methanol and send it. I'm not super familiar with C23 so someone else would need to chime in how it would do on that fuel but likely ok as clearly that is a high grade race gas but would still do straight meth personally.

Anyone reason you can't change the pistons to drop compression?

I don't have many ls turbo friends running over 11.5:1, a few at 12:1.

If the top end is not on it yet you could throw some thinker head gaskets on it to drop the compression some if it’s all assembled already just get a custom turbo cam switch to m1 and let it ride

the only downside to high compression is it makes your tuning window smaller but same thing with 700hp worth of nitrous if you miss the tune up you could hurt stuff
