Dome sensor placement. I am switching from using the Map sensor to a dome sensor for boost control, does it need to actually go on the wastegate, or can I install it anywhere in the line to the WG. Another question, I see closed loop and open loop used when dealing with boost control, is that something diff than open/closed dealing with the 02 sensor. I try to keep things simple, lol.

ive run the sensor both ways and didnt notice a difference, but have been told it has to be directly in the wastegate. i wasnt pushing things real hard back before i moved it to the gate.
open loop means it just runs directly off a duty cycle table and closed loop means it will target a boost level with duty cycle corrections.
i will usually use closed loop at first and use that to dial in a duty cycle to switch to open loop. either way works fine it just depends on your ecu/boost control and how dialed in the correction parameters are.

It works in the dome for simplicity and no confusion, that is why
Why not in the dome? NVH the transducer is exposed to and can get better more stable control by adding more volume
I can explain why if you wish but the jist is minimized the feedback of the gate through its travel
