Default I did boost by gear using Eboost2 on a T56

It's probably been done before I thought I'd post anyway. I wasn't for sure if to put in this section or the manual trans section.

I have a 2000 Firehawk, SBE LS1, TFS heads, FAST 102, blah blah and the Huron Speed APS style TT kit.

I've been driving around on 13lbs for the past year and wanted to finally figure out my Eboost2 controller. I tried to hook it up last year but I wasn't smart enough to figure out the instructions. I ran across some good videos from Turbosmart then went down the YT rabbit hole.

One video I watched showed how a guy did boost by gear on a TH350 and it got me thinking. I used the basically the same idea but changed it to work on a T56(or any manual trans)

The Eboost2 will do several variations of boost by gear but they use the same two wires, the green wire and the orange wire. I am using the SSA switching option.

Each time the green wire is grounded, it changes to the next boost group. When the orange wire is grounded, it changes to the first boost group.

I hooked it up like this;
Green wire to an on/off switch, then to a mirco switch that the clutch pedal engages on when I shift, the other side of the micro switch to ground
The orange wire to a momentary on push button, the other side to ground.

With the switch in the "on" position, it completes the circuit for the green wire to the micro switch for the clutch pedal. Each time I shift and the clutch hits the mirco switch, it grounds the circuit and it goes to the next boost group. With the switch in the "off" position, the circuit is open and the green wire never sees ground so it doesn't change the boost group.

When I push the momentary on button, it changes it back to the first boost group.

It has worked out really well. If I want to drive around and not have it change boost groups when I shift I leave the switch off.

One thing that I can do that I didn't think about prior is if I want to change the boost group, instead of having to change it on the gauge, I turn the switch on, push the clutch pedal down to select the next boost group.

The limitations are it won't lower the boost group if you downshift.

Right now I'm running 4 boost groups,
BG1 I run off the gate, about 6lbs, BG2 is 8lbs, BG3 is 10lbs and BG4 is 14.

I'm going to add another BG and run gate pressure on BG1 and BG2 and start with 8lbs on BG3. The reason is as of right now. If I want to launch the car, I push the momentary button and it changes to BG1, when I push the clutch in to launch it switches to BG2 and have to push the momentary button real quick to get it back to BG1. If BG1 and 2 are on the gate, I can push the button, reset it to BG1 and when I push the clutch in to launch the car it will switch to BG2 but will still be on the gate.

I'm really happy I ran across the videos from Turbosmart. The button navigation system is pretty easy once I saw a video on it.

The power is a lot more manageable now. It has twin 58's and the boost curve looks like a PDS blower. After getting boost by gear to work I finally killed my stock 7.5 10 bolt. Before it would just spin tires and never hooked. I dead hooked 2nd gear on a no lift WOT shift last week on MT S/S 315 radials.....I shouldn't have done that...

Anyway, I know this isn't life changing, but wanted to throw the information out there.

Yeah that works pretty well, we had done something similar on a car back in the day but I think we had just mounted a switch on something that was triggered every shift. In my Viper since it was temporary until I went standalone I just had a passenger who's job was to hit the up button on every shift. LMAO **edit** well **** it keeps embedding automatically I just wanted to post the stupid link because its funny.

Thanks man I appreciate it.

It works well for what it is. I love your passenger changing the BG, haha.
