Blow off valve questions!! Hey guys hope you're all having a good Sunday so far, I'm in the middle of building a twin turbo sbc, its my first turbo build so im really still learning everything turbo wise. I was talking with a guy at the shop the other day who's done a few and he claims that I need 3 blow off valves, one right before the carburetor, and 1 on each turbo right as it goes into the intercooler, is this true?? I had planned on running just the one 53mm right at the carburetor, but what do you guys recommend, do yall think I need the other 2??
Sounds like the "shop guy" has 2 extras laying around that need to be sold. While 1 is good to have, many people do not even use 1 BOV. The idea of 3 is ludicrous. Do not let "shop guy" touch anything on your car.

if you want to be **** about bovs, a small one (that reacts fast) and a big one is good to have. there are "sequential" bovs for that purpose too.
(as too not running one, i suspect its the guys that swap in another turbo every other week. its like running no filter or not connecting the water lines.)

Bov.... I had a upgraded twin turbo BMW 335i & had 2 bov's. I used to have a highly modified Buick Grand National that had no bov... when you let off the gas it flutters (they call it the mutant pigeon.) It's the air pressure going back against the turbo. I now have a 2013 Corvette GS with A&A supercharger that came with a bov. I think you need 1 bov for your setup. Just Make sure you have the correct spring for pressure, you want to hear air blowing, no flutter (which means it's pushing back against the turbos.
