Vortech V3Sci Belt Slip
PSA
I have fixed (at least with my setup) the belt slip problem plaguing the truck Vortech V3-Sci truck kit for CHEAP.
CURRENTLY RUNNING STOCK 3.6" PULLEY
Atomic Fab's Truck HD tensioner bracket - $92 including shipping and new hardware
Amazon Cummins HD smooth belt tensioner 38285 - $30
Gates Fleetrunner K061177HD belt - $57
I have zero belt slip and see 7psi at ~6200rpm with an LQ4/Truck Norris cam.
She rips, and datalogs show no noticeable belt slip as far as I can tell. Downshifting on WOT, hits 3psi instantly and climbs steadily. You don't need an aftermarket bracket or a corvette accessory drive, and don't need a 10 rib! I have ~500 miles on the new setup, and the belt hasn't stretched any noticeable amount. I had to do a little bit of grinding on the back of the bracket for clearance with one of the supercharger bracket bolts, took probably 3min with the angle grinder. I also shaved the head of the tensioner bolt down about ⅛".
