Cone vs Panel filters: Horsepower vs restriction
My girl got me a Dragy for Christmas, it'll be fun to try out in the spring! Staying on topic here, I have a Turboguard in my Summit cart, I'm really wondering if it'll make a difference over the cone filter Huronspeed supplied in my kit. Guess I'll have to try some back to back runs as well.
"Everything I have read/seen is that turbo guards are worse than filters. Especially the finer mesh ones."
Along a similar line...Radiator "bug screens" have reportedly caused as much 15% loss in airflow.
I suspect the same results with the turbo guard.
I've seen serious flow loss with the "dryer duct" type convoluted intake tubes.

Everything I have read/seen is that turbo guards are worse than filters. Especially the finer mesh ones. If people are saying its worse then they can see/feel the difference. The larger opening ones flow better but really only block birds vs small rocks and other stuff that you really want to keep out of the turbo.
