Cutout affect on ebc duty cycle

Default Cutout affect on ebc duty cycle

Hello
ls1 gt45 turbo low boost,restrictive exhaust. So i installed a 3” cutout post turbo vacuum boost operated. I did have my spool settings 100% pre cutout with no spikes.
now getting boost spike so dropped to 0% for now, but may have to increase duty cycle to get same amount of boost i had pre cutout. Does that seem normal? Probably making sane power at less boost? I suppose if i have to add more fuel when logging i will know?

Normal I'd say. It will make more per pound and spool more quickly with less restriction post turbo.


Riding out the spike is half the fun! We use to port the turbos to bypass the WG and spike as high as possible!

My last car did something similar; I had to tune it with the cutout open because it made more power and spooled faster with it open.
It was a very large difference between open and closed performance wise, it was actually a bit rich on the AFR with it closed too.
