It started off with me finding a ls9 blower on eBay for $5500, offered $5250 because I wasn’t sure if I was serious about it, sure enough the seller accepted my offer.
First things first, order other parts needed for the build.
Fuel system: -10an PTFE hose, Ti 535 fuel pump, DeatchWerks fuel filter, hot wire kit, Flex Sensor, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, and Fuel Injector Clinic 1000cc injectors.
Blower cooling system: Kong Dual -12an inlets, -12an fittings, -12an hose, 34x13x2.25 heat exchanger, water pump, Edelbrock reservoir.
Belt drive: Olson Kustom Works LS9 to GTO/Fbody Fromt drive conversion kit, Olsons FBody/GTO Offset Tensioner Bracket Kit, Olsons HD Tensioner Pulley Upgrade, Gates Tensioner, Summit Balancer
Other important parts: Olsons Cathedral port to square port Adapter Plates, Holley Throttle Body Angle Spacer, Chinese throttle body cable mount, 92mm throttle body (needed for the angle spacer since 102 is too big for it), and a Belt
Wiring: I had a Holley Terminator X kit I was sitting on for about a month, so got started on wiring it up (my little brother did it all, I’ll try to convince him to write up a story for that) used splitters and some LowDollar sensors for the Holley and stock sensors for the stock computer, used the stock computer and some of the factory harness so my gauge cluster works like factory. So that’s that for wiring.
Supercharger prep: Removed stock isolator for a Eaton/Lingenfelter solid isolator, drained and refilled the oil on the unit, removed stock ZR1 pulley, shaved down the casting around the pulley shaft to fit the 2.65 pulley (yes I know that’s not very small but it’s my first boosted build), pressed new pulley hub on, bolted pulley to the hub. Got the lid signed by David Freiburger, Mike Finnegan and Steve Brule aka Dyno Steve, installed gasket on lid and lower gaskets. Then those fancy Kong Dual inlet/outlets.
Fitment: Here’s what everyone seemed most curious about as was I, I was hoping the whole unit would fit under the cowl of the Camaro hence why I bought an LS9 instead of an LSA. Boy was I wrong about it fitting. Would it fit under the cowl with square port heads and small spacers for the k-member? I’d say it probably would. But I don’t have square port heads, so I had to use head adapter plates which were half an inch thick. So got to removing the wipers, and cutting the cowl. Started small with just cutting the hump out, still didn’t fit, so chop chop and now I have no cowl in the middle of wipers but I live in the desert in New Mexico, rain isn’t an issue even when it’s raining. So with that out of the way (literally) it’s on to fuel system.
Fuel System: Dropped the tank because I refuse to cut a hole in the trunk (even after cutting the cowl), installed a Ti Automotive 535 Pump, and a hot wire kit. Used -10 a bulk head for the feed, used the factory 3/8 feed as my return. Then from the hat to a DeatchWerks filter, then to the front of the car where I DID NOT want to mount the aeromotive regulator on the shock tower like everyone else does. Well with the cowl being cut and not having wipers or the motors for the wipers I decided to put the regulator in the gigantic wide open space where the motor would be. Kinda neat because you can still see the regulator in the hole where the wiper arm would be. Then just ran my return to the factory feed line in the engine bay near the head. And then just ran the new feed to the fuel rails and that’s that for the fuel system. The car runs fully on e85 but has a flex sensor with Sloppy Mechanics flex harness to the Holley just in case.
Supercharger Installation: Pretty basic from here, put the plates on the head, then lower the blower onto the plates, send the bolts through both, bolt lid down, badabing badabang installed.
Accessory Drive: Another thing people are most curious about. I’m still running F-Body accessory drive, with Olson Kustom Works conversion which includes the supercharger pulley, idler pulley and mount. His HD tensioner mount and his HD Tensioner Pulley Upgrade (may not be needed on your build I had belt walking issues since its first cam build) you’re able to use everything else fbody. I do already have a corvette power steering pump swapped on it, you can get it from “Nick’s F-Body Power Steering Fix Kit” on Facebook but it still uses fbody spacing. And then just added a stock sized harmonic balancer from summit.
Cooling: Still running stock cooling system for the engine, didn’t need a stand up rad or anything special, car still runs at 160° coolant temp. For the heat exchanger I removed the crash bar and styrofoam bumper and washer fluid reservoir because obviously I didn’t need it, would’ve been neat to use it as a coolant reservoir but didn’t think it would’ve fit. I may have ordered a heat exchanger that was maybe a bit too big, but I used it anyways it was cheap on eBay. Used some steel strap to make a triangular mount to fit the big ol thing in there at an angle for it to fit inside the bumper. For the blower with the Kong dual inlet/outlet I opted for -12an fittings on them, you can get barbed but I wanted for the cool factor. I tried 90°s, 45°s, and straight fittings off the blocks ended up just going with straight because I was running out of time and didn’t know if 2x 90°s and 2x tight 90°s would work and couldn’t get the 45°s to sit where I wanted them. Then just ran -12 to the pump and reservoir with silicone hose where it can’t be seen. The reservoir I mounted in the hole next to the fuse box, drilled out the spot welds for the hood bumper and removed the bumper and mount, pretty neat little hidden spot that’s usually never used in builds. Now remember I’m in New Mexico, l “finished” the build May 17th it’s already 95°+ out but cruising I’m getting MAT of 118° and traffic I’m around 128° and “beating” on it it’s 140ish. And engine coolant temps never above 180°.
Intake: Here’s my current situation on the intake and throttle body situation. With an LSA it shoots the throttle body out to the side slightly, but the LS9 shoots it straight out just offset to the driver side pretty dang close to where the V6 cars outlet is at. But it was too low and wouldnt have worked without the throttle body angle spacer, but with that angle spacer I couldn’t run my NW102, so threw on a Chinese 92mm I had laying around and flipped it upside down so the throttle cable linkage was where it was accessible. So now that I had the throttle body where I needed it I had to come up with a plan quick, ended up using a stock air box lid, and an SLP lid and cutting them up and plastic welding them together and making my own 4” outlet from the box lid. I still need to finish the lid, I wanted to have it 3D printed but learning CAD is pretty tough and I’m having a hard time finding someone to help with it. Then throttle cable. Ended up using a Hawks non traction control cable and just ended up cutting it to fit since nothing was where it was supposed to be and that worked perfectly.

Just want to say I did not build it to be a race car, it’s just a daily with some power. That being said,
I’m very pleased with the power and drivability. Still have A/C, haven’t had cruise control but you’d end up losing it if you were to do the Holley as well. Is it worth the cost? I’d say no, it’s very neat and rare but I think I got lucky with getting a full LS9 unit for the price I got it for. Could do a Maggie and be happy, if not happier. With it being a stock 250k mile LS1 it does pretty good, my butt dyno says high 500s. People say fuel flow is 1:1 to horse power and my lbs per hour is like 550 but I’ve never seen that to be true as my little brothers 5.3 turbo fbody flows like low 400 lbs per hour but is making more boost and is faster. As for cost I’m probably in it at 13k with Holley, Blower, and fuel system.
my LSX427 powered SS puts down 540-550 rwhp naturally aspirated. With billet aluminum wheels, a lighter flywheel and an aluminum driveshaft it could pick up a little more. I think it's really cool you installed a supercharged LS9 in your car and I imagine it's a fun car to drive. I don't think you'd pull away from in a drag race and it could go either way but it sure would be cool to line em up. I've been looking at doing a pistion swap and going to a ProCharger in order to keep what I have entact. Way too much invested to ditch it all for a top mount supercharger or switch over to turbo.

Hard to build a 427 lsx block, fuel system, and Holley for 13g these days though.
