Unhappy Aster bracket woes.............

First off 2002 Trans Am Ws6. Months ago I got the new bearings installed and I finally got it but back together the other night. Now its eating the Procharger belt. Long story short as far as my application Procharger kinda hosed me with the D1 to Dx upgrade. They dont telll you it is .8 of an inch wider. I have a 2002 Trans Am and where the Procharger lives I had to take out the 16 inch fan (supplied with the original Fbody Pro-kit) and put in and fabricate a new shroud for 3 - 8 inch fans. Do I ditch the Aster bracket? Is it pointless to keep running this bracket? Who still runs it? I am running close to max impeller speed at 6500 RPM. Are the bearing just gonna fry again in less that a few thousand miles? This is mostly just a street car. thanks

Have you thought about swapping to the "new" procharger spring tensioner system? Its a little pricey, but apparently works well.

How is your belt alignment?

well i can help i just went through some issues and the bracket is obsolete , and the maker wont return emails , dms or texts so no help from him .

i recently ate up the lower idler bearing for the 2nd time in 3 years , so another member on here told me to delete the lower idler , i did and went to an inch shorter belt , but them kept breaking belts , 3 in 100 miles or less, so chirs1313 just put out a laser alignment tool , come to find out my procharger has been out of alignment fro years but with the lower idler gone it was an issue , so i was off half a rib .

Thanks for the replies guys! So I spose I should bite the bullet and get the new Procharger tensioner(?). Does anyone know if it will actually fit? I cant go any wider than the Aster bracket. I cannot even go an extra 1/8th of an inch!

id call Bob at Brutespeed and ask him directly they were the ones who designed it originally. They stopped selling it because the new procharger bracket is superior

Bob didnt design it. Chris oldenhouse did. He stopped making parts like 3 years ago. I got a lower idler made 3.5 or 4 years ago from him. Chris made the stuff and brutespeed sold it.

The bracket has worked great. But procharger finally came out with a bracket with a tensioner. Personally ill keep the Aster and have parts made I just wish Chris would share or sell the plans for the pieces that are custom so they could be replicated
