Well, was going to build a low compression 427 and S/C it. But thats REAL pricey for a 427. So i was thinking of a LC 383. Is that a good combo? 383 & S/C it. How much power lose would you loose from a S/C 427 to a S/C 383. Or is there a better all around HP to $$ ratio. Want like 600-800 RWHP.. Just want to build a pricey (not too pricey) weekend toy over the next year. Thanks Fellas.

Want to S/C it for sure, but dont know what set-up is a bang for the buck.

a 383 will still be stout. youll lhave to use a little more boost to make up that the fact that the 427 would make more power, but i dont think it will be to much of a factor.
heck some 347's put out as much as a 382 or 427 its all the set up. granted everything being equal the bigger cubes win.

I prefer stock cubes or you end up with too much unusable TQ for street driving and lots of traction issues.

I guess that all depends on how heavy your foot is though. Is there much of a price difference in building a forged 347 to a 383 to a 427? The S/C will pretty much cost the same 5K. What RWHP are you (approx) looking at with the 3 size motors above? Just trying to gather all the input before hand. Will propably by the S/C first and throw it on my stock motor. Then when that goes ill build the forged motor. But not sure on price for each one though. Thanks
