Help with Oiling system
For All you GM dealer employees did you know that the weldon 9200 oil pump is used by GM Performance parts as a add-on differential cooler pump?
GM Part #12480081
Now Question for anyone and everyone who can offer an opinion..
Remote Twin Turbo set-up.
Oiling system:
Choice #1
Engine fed oiling system using a sump http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=200
to allow the turbos to drain into then using a weldon 9200 pump to return the oil back to the engine.
Choice #2
Closed oiling system:
Use Weldon 9200 pump to pump oil from the 4qt oil sump listed above to a remote mounted oil filter http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=208
Then to a thermostat http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=235
Then to a oil cooler http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=232
And back to the turbos which drain back into the oil sump.
System would incorporate a oil pressure gauge and warning buzzer.
One thing I am still working on is a oil heater to heat the oil in the sump (after sitting) as the weldon pump doesnt like cold oil.
Please offer your OPINIONS!
Thanks!

I asked the same Q when I got my setup. I was told that an external system does not have the oil volumn needed to do as good a job of cooling the oil as when hooked up through the motor. Should work w/ enough oil and a cooler I would think. I went with #2.

I am just getting oil pressure off of the port above the oil filter, feeding it to the turbos and then using a weldon 9200 to pump the oil back into the pan through the oil level sensor port. This is with the Incon setup.
