I am about to purchase a T-70 but want to make sure it is in fact enough for my needs. Running on a stock LS1 with all appropriate mods, i.e. fueling system and tuning, will the T-70 supply enough air for 7-10 psi?

What Im really looking for here are pros and cons for two turbos for this application, a T-70 and T-76.

Thanks
Mario

a t-70 can supply a hell-of-alot more than 7-10psi. I should support more than a stock LS1 could ever use.

At least based on the compressor map on the turbonetics site the T-70 is not a very good choice.

http://64.225.76.178/catalog/compmaps/t70.html

The T-70 they are showing has a very steep flow curve, another words it like a heck of a lot more boost than 10 psi. At 10 psi the thing tops (lowest efficiency) out at ~60 lb/min air flow or about ~600 fwhp. Now if you want to run it in its efficient range then you are talking barely ~ 400 fwhp. Just my opinion bad choice for a low boost engine. Works great on something like a diesel. Of course it all depends on the exact compressor wheel and housing you are using. It can be called a T70 but flow more like a T-76. For instance , the original turbo tech kit had a T-76 option. But all they did was put a T-76 compressor wheel in something like a T-60 (something) compressor housing. Get the actual compressor and turbine map for the turbo you are interested in, then you can see if it will work.

I was told that a T-76 was not enough for me to be in its efficency range.... I was told look into a T-76 GTS, but i have a few more cubes then stock.....

Look at a consumption map, then cross-reference it with the compressor maps. That will give you some baselines on what turbos you need to look at.
