Default Garrett GT40

Has anyone used this turbo on a stock cube LS1 with any success? I did a search but didn't find too much on the new GT series in general. It seems like everyone is still sticking witht the T-series.

How would the GT40 67T with a .81 A/R turbine spool on our engine? What kind of difference does the Ball Bearing option really make on spool time? I've seen claims of 300-1300 RPM sooner. If it's 300 RPM it's not worth the money IMHO.

here is a map for the turbo. What kinda psi do you want to run. Also how high do you want to spin the motor.
Here is what u need to know to find out if this turbo will work.

Goober, I've looked all that up before but thanks. I wantto know how it will spool, ie what RPM wil it spool to, say, 7 psi as a general number?

The 408 we just installed a GT-70 on spools quicker than I expected. I was told, it is the GT wheel that makes the difference. It spools faster than my 60-1 on my stock LS1.

It'll spool pretty quick but what's the point, the gt40 won't flow enough air on the top end to support the ls1.

In that case, would the 42 spool as quickly, that one would definitely flow enough air... keep in mind the only turbine A/R available is the1.15 and that is huge.

The 42/42R will not fit in your car without major modification. This would include cutting your car.
