Default more timing with race fuel?

the limit for 92 octane for my set up seems to be 10psi and about 16deg timing. right now i am running a mix of 118 and 92 octane. i should be right at 105octane. with this fuel i am up to 16psi and 19deg.

one knowalagle person i know is telling me with the race fuel i should run even more timing. says the flame front travels slower and i need to fire it off sooner to be making the cylinder presure at the right time rather than chasing the piston down the bore. he is sugesting i add 1-2deg at a time till i am up to 24deg.

anyone have experience with more timing and race fuel? i will probably run closer to an 80% mix of race fuel if i ever really go for a glory run with the thing and am wondering if i should just crank the boost or try more timing.

There's nothing to be gained from race fuel unless you add more timing or boost. The higher the octane the less volatile the fuel is so the resistance to detonation is greater. If your going 80% I would just go 100% and bump up the timing to find the detonation threshold.

i say 80% because there is bound to be some pump left in the tank.

i understand turning it up the the whole idea behind the race fuel. like i said i am at 16psi and 19deg. if i run strait race gas wich should i turn up. this guy is telling me to run another 5deg or so and then turn up the boost too.

I always add 2 deg at a time when trying to increase it for better octane. Just watch for knock
