Default Got a new best last night at the track!

Wasn't a 10.99 but it still was a personal best in less than desirable racing conditions...... not related to the weather as it was perfect.
I busted my *** to put my 10 bolt back together so I could take it out on friday. Got that done and a week prior I put a fresh set of rotors and brake pads on....little did I know this was going to bite me in the ***.

Me and my buddy Frank were prepping the car for track duty which is washing it and swapping the ET streets and skinnies on, adjusting tire pressure and airbag pressure. We did that and started to get underway-NOT. The car wouldn't budge, the new brake pads being so thick pushed the front calipers out and it wouldn't clear my front prostars anymore, they were stuck So we started to grind on em, but it was getting late so we just threw on the stock front 16x8s I also had the cats on too and filled the car up the night before with a full tank of 91 So no race gas was going in.

So we got to the track and it was nice and cool out, no wind and there was no one at the track so it was pass city. The track was also prepped decent for once I was also a lil worried about my new 60lb mototron tune that I did myself with a lil advice from Mighty Mouse(Thanks Dave) Car still ran like a beast and the a/f was 10.5 at WOT.

On my last pass, I let her cool down for about an hour. Temp out was 60 degs.

I went up against a 468ci big block 68 camaro, in trailered mega huge rear slicks, wheelie bars the big *** hood scoop race car form....I thought I was going to get slaughtered as no one wanted to race him so I decide to go up with him Listen to that thing rev before he stages

I ran a

DA was a NICE 6874ft thats damn near sea level to us lol

Here is a video of the pass, track announcer gave a good run down of both cars and commentary
http://home.comcast.net/~gbazan/1131pass.mov
6.5 megs for size and clarity

I ended up winning against the trailered drag car He spun off the line and I reacted quicker, he just couldn't make it up at the line, at 1/8mi I really moved out on him. This car of mine really needs 4.10s

So I was extremely happy. I didn't think the car would run this good with the heavy *** stocker front tires, cats and a full tank o' 91 unleaded. But the weather was on my side and the track wasn't that bad either. My MPH wasn't really that hurt from my last outing either. I trapped 124 in full track trim, but it was slightly warmer out on that night.

This bested my previous personal best ever, last season I ran a 11.36. So my quest for 10's continues. I am just a set of ET drags away, can't hit a 10 with a 1.80 60ft.

Traps improved to . We're hoping the DA gets down to low 6000 high 5000's in november. . At least thats what it was last year.

Roswell man, gotta make a trip out to roswell. DA is around 3800 ft.

Traps didn't improve, I was just able to make a full pass without lifting, with the other 3 passes I lifted at the line, and half track. You were there, you even told me that you heard and saw me lift on the first 3 passes. I made this one a lil after you and the better half left....shoulda stuck around.

Oh yeah Thanks for letting me use your flashlight Scott. It was a life saver.

Hi Tom, using the correction chart I have it comes out to about a 10.53@132
Good thing about going to a lower track is boost will increase so more power will be made so it might go even faster. When I had my lil 6psi powerdyne on the car. I went to Roswell which is at 3800ft and turned a 12.1@115 with no hook- car also made 8psi there. The best I turned here in alb with the powerdyne was 12.5@109 with a better 60ft. That is a good indicator of what a lower elevation has on power. I am just glad the car ran what it did with the 91 octane, Cats and heavy stock front rollers on.

I'm not kidding. Even 6000ft DA is sickening to me. LOL I get all upset when I have to race in anything above 2000ft. I am so spoiled having a track 50ft above sea level...

At 9000ft I'd just leave the car in the garage and go turn on speedvision. LMAO

2000ft DA= Thats like driving in a N2O cloud for us

Merlin, will do just that if I need the ET Drags trucked out there. Neal(PNYKILR) offered me up his 28x10x15's ET drags to try out next friday. Just have to make sure they fit and clear everything. I keep forgetting about his offer when it comes time to take the freakin car out Talk about me not wanting to hit 10s lol.

I had that same thing happen with my draglites, my pads were 1/2 worn so I replaced them thinking I was doing some good. I had to grind the crap out of the calipers and was happy they cleared with no spacers - not with the new pads though.

Had to dumpster dive to get my old pads back that I threw out and put them back on

Once your 60' drops 10s are there, car looks good in the video.

Thanks for the comments on the video Kevin, now I know at least someone watched it
243 views with 16 responses, come guys give me some feedback bandwidth aint free

No dumpster diving for me, they are long gone I was going to start grinding today but everyone disappeared on me and my lil guy, so we just chilled out and played with his power wheels ATV I'll grind on em tomorrow after work. Pass side will be easy enough since I already grinded the crap out of them that night, just need to finish it up. Man I don't like grinding on the front brakes

Yep my 60 looks to be the problem. The car is now consistently trapping mid 120's. I'm hoping to have that taken care of by friday:crossesfingers:
Thanks again KP

I would not do a 4.10 gear, I'd prolly pulley it down for more boost at some point.

PSJ,
Jeremy is almost to the blowere max RPM..... 62,000 rpm max. and he's spinning it at 59,450 right now....... with a 3.4"lower pulley.... i believe he shifts at 6800.... he could go to a 3.3" blower pulley and spin the blower to 61,251 but the smallest pulley that is made for it is a 3.2"... and that would over spin the blower by 1000 rpm's for him. ATI doesnt even make a pulley smaller the 3.4"s...... Riechard Racing makes the 3.3" and 3.2" for double the price of the ATI pullies....... Get her to hook Jer and u will be in the 10's..... Hey i saw the vid buddy..... Nice silver fronts... ha ha
