Default Scat vs. Callies internals

Opinions please, Scat crank and rods vs. Callies crank and rods for a turbo/nitrous low compression application. Also, Diamond turbo pistons vs. Mahle turbo pistons. Thanks.

Which ever one is the lightest, on the crank. On the rods, which ever one will withstand 1200 HP. You don't want to have to go back in. If memory serves, SCAT makes a 43lb crank. Don't use anything but ARP bolts. I am using Diamond pistons, moldex crank 53lb and Carrillo A Rods. 800RWHP. Look at signature. Compression is 9.8:1 with a -15cc Dish piston, and 6.100 Length Rod. Head Chamber size is 73cc LS6 that were cut from blanks.

You can see the dyno graph at www.perigee.net/~lunapark/800dyno.html

There is always hype, but no matter what anyone tells you, Carrillo makes the best rods on the planet. So why skimp. If you can't afford it today, buy what you can and save up. Don't skimp because you are low on funds or you could regret it later.

I have run Diamond pistons up to 746rwhp, this was a 9:1 setup. I did this with:
-stock crank
-6.125 rods
-Diamond -8.6cc pistons
-110 race gas
-22 degrees of timing

Just my two cents, I had one of the good Scat cranks in my 94 Z. Actually I had two, when I had the engine shop do the assembly they didn't even notice one of the untouched journals was thin enough to woble with your fingers. Not something you actually would believe unless you seen it. Scat didn't believe it either until they got the crank back and seen it, then they finally gave me a new one. Of course everything to do with shipping and new bearings were my problem. I would NEVER NEVER buy anything from them again and suggest no one else does either. Kick up the cash and buy one from Callies or Lunati or who ever, just not Scat. BTW, they ALL have lightened versions, just ask.
