Default Forged Bottem End For SC Question

I am going to be changing my setup by going with AFR heads, a Comp 220/224 115+2 XE-R cam, and a Vortech T-Trim supercharger. I am thinking that if I am going to have my car all apart I need to at least consider forging the bottom end at the same time.

I assume that properly tuned with about 9psi I should be able to get 600ish rwhp out of this combination. The reality of my situation is that I live at high altitude (7000 feet) and loose about 25% of my horsepower. This turns the awesome 600 rwhp into about 450 or so rwhp.

At a rwhp level of 450 to 500 is it really necessary to go with aftermarket forged rods or could I just use the stock rods with ARP bolts? Are there any "budget" LS1 specific 6.100" or 6.125" rods available?

6.125 rods with ARP L19 rod bolts can be like $600. That's what I have. When you run different pistons you have to balance everything anyway.

Please PSJ Dont tell me you bought the Eagle H-Beam w/ l-19's for $600....
I paid $400 for Eagle H-Beam rods with and upgrade to ARP L-19 rod bolts for $100 extra.
I would do a set od forged pistons also to lower comprssion so you can run higher boost of pump gas. My Diamond pistons were $600 and the rings were $180.
All new bearing throughout the whole motor shouldnt be more then $150, ARP Main studs $160, New Ported LS6 oil pump $160, New timing chain $150 and machining and labor for assemblie $... that will depend on who you have local to you and if you shop around........

Are those Eagle 6.125" rods that you guys are using LS1 specific rods or are they SBC rods? Ah extra $500 isn't that big of a deal...

You can use SBC or LS1 rods. Mbasket and a couple of people are doing it. You just have to flip the rod around so it centers up a bolt it in. Not that big of a deal.
