8 or 6 rib?

Default 8 or 6 rib?

if i add a procharger on, i know if i go with the 8 rib system, i would need to buy the ATI super dampener crank pulley and crank key which is about 600 extra bucks. all im looking for is 8# of boost and no more. i would be on the stock bottom end for a while. if i got a d-1sc on a 6 rib system, with my cam, long tubes, and true duals trying to make 8#s of boost, would i might run into belt slipping problems or should i just wait a little longer, save up more money and get the 8 rib? does anybody have a d-1sc on 6 rib making 8#s and having no slip issues - if so what size s/c pulley are you running? thanks for the info.

One word...... NO..... and it wont really be 8 psi when your done with a cam and LT's... it will be mor elike 5-6 psi... and when you rtry and pulley back up for 8psi it is harder on your stock motor and getting there with a stock 6 rib pulley will probably never happen... sorry.... Why not order SDCE's spring tensioned 8 rib setup like alot of us have.... its only $100 more then ATI's 8 rib setup and none of us are having belt slip at all with it.....

ok, so i definitely have to go with the 8 rib then. im am really confused though. ive searched through many threads and i just keep getting more and more confused. when people are talking about there crank pulleys, im not sure wheather they're talking about the one that connects to the crank or the s/c crank pulley that connects to the crank pulley. anyway, with the SDCE 8 rib set up, would i still need the ATI super dampener crank pulley or does the SDCE come with a crank pulley/work with stock crank pulley. please help me become unconfused.

I haven't had any problems with my six rib setup, but, if I were to do it over again I would start with an eight rib as I see a forged motor and big boost at some point in the future.

You don't have to get the damper, I'm using the stock crank pulley setup, so far so good......

but yea.......

SDCE rocks

Go with the sdce kit, I've heard nothing but good things about it. My slip problems on the six rib have just started and it's only been three weeks since I got the car back on 9.5-10 psi.
