Default turbo newbie...

I just purchased a used Turbo Tech T-66 kit, and need advice on my cam selection...currently the car has a Comp 224/228, .532/.535 on a 112lsa...how well do you think this cam will perform? I've been lurking on this section for a while now and gather that a lower lsa is not as desirable. Other than cam and fuel sys, I plan on keeping the car mostly as is. What would be a good size cam to run if my current cam doesn't sound so good? Also, how much timing would be a good point to start at for wot? Right now she's set up at 27 degrees at wot. I'm brand new to the world of forced induction, so thanks for the help!

You will most likely need to pull some timing if you are gonna run very much boost. Timing is normally somewhere in the high teens for moderately (8 - 10 lbs) boosted engines. Of course, each machine needs to be tuned for it's specific setup!

how do you what your drivabilty will be one factor.
a reverse split like a 224/220 - 115 would be a good place to start, if you what a little more power, less street ablity you might increase your duration some. but there are alot of factors that go into it.

Thanks for the help guys...I asked the timing question just for a ballpark # to start at then work from there. Just got off the phone with Cary (sp?) at Cam Motion and they'll be calling me back in a little while...working up some #'s right now...getting pretty stoked here...all I really have left after that will be getting a fuel pump and injectors and she'll be ready to go...if you have any other words of advice, it'd be much appreciated...wanna do things right the first time...thanks again,

Brian

With a TTI system you don't want to run to much duration. Since the back pressure ratio is close to 4:1 you don't want to hang the exhaust valve open to long.
