How to break in a turbo motor?
As far as the turbo I would think it will break itsshelf in realy fast! Do to the RPM's they spined at.
Yes,engine builders go WOT on the engine dyno with a new motor but they only drag the motor's so they are not built to last 100k miles
This is what I do-
Start engine, let it idle while filling cooling system and everything is up to temp. Let engine cool down. Change oil.
Drive car on the street or dyno. I make a few pulls at 1/2 throttle from around 2500-4500, letting off the gas so the engine compression brakes back down to 2,500, than go 3/4 throttle from 2,500-5,500 letting the engine compression brake. Change oil.
Let the engine cool down.
After that, I tune it at WOT.
Once the engine is first started, it soon needs to see a load in order for the rings to seat properly.
If a fresh engine is started up and 'babied' for hundreds of miles, the rings will never seal as well as they could have.
