Boost control for ATI/Vortech superchargers?
My thought behind asking these question is say if you have a normal ATI unit with boost set to 8 psi at redline (6000 rpm for example). Now from what I understand that setup will only be making 3 or 4 psi of boost at 3000 rpm. Correct me if I am wrong; I don't have a supercharger on my F-body. Now, if you had something to bleed off the boost what would stop you from theoretically setting the pulley size to make 12-15 psi of boost at redline, but adjusting your bleed off so that boost never went above 8 psi. Would that setup produce nearly full boost at 3000 rpm and maintain that up to redline?
I am just trying to get some conversation started here, so if anyone wants to throw their .02$ in feel free.
