Default Boost control for ATI/Vortech superchargers?

I didnt find any luck searching for this, so forgive me. I have a grand prix GTP (it has an eaton supercharger for those unfamiliar), with a max boost of 8 psi. It seems a normal issue with the ATI/vortech kits is that they make great peak power, but dont make as much midrange power as a turbo due to the boost being directly related to RPM. Well, for the GTP cars GM (or Eaton) used an engine vacuum controlled relief valve to bleed off the boost when not needed. It work quite well; I can run the engine to ~3k rpm with 0 boost. I can then turn around and punch down low and get about 6 psi at 2k. Now, this is going by the factory boost gauge. Is there some reason or way that this can be applied to a ATI/vortech kit? It seems it would solve the midrange power issues, and maybe increase gas mileage. Has anyone tried something like this?

I can run my car to 7200 without ever going into boost, I can be in vacuum.

How can you do that PSJ? What type of setup do you have?

My thought behind asking these question is say if you have a normal ATI unit with boost set to 8 psi at redline (6000 rpm for example). Now from what I understand that setup will only be making 3 or 4 psi of boost at 3000 rpm. Correct me if I am wrong; I don't have a supercharger on my F-body. Now, if you had something to bleed off the boost what would stop you from theoretically setting the pulley size to make 12-15 psi of boost at redline, but adjusting your bleed off so that boost never went above 8 psi. Would that setup produce nearly full boost at 3000 rpm and maintain that up to redline?

I am just trying to get some conversation started here, so if anyone wants to throw their .02$ in feel free.

Thinking of running a blower, very interesting idea. Has this been done, if so how.

you can apply that same concept i guess, but i've really never heard of anyone using a boost control on a supercharged car especially a ati or vortech, the boost level coincides with rpms if you want to run less boost don't run it as high.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.
