Default Need help w/intercooler size!

Need to start thinking about the intercoolers for my TT427 setup going in my 62' Chevy 2 pro-Touring project. I plan on fabricating them myselfs by buying the Spearco cores and making the end tanks, inlets and outlets. Due to space confinement I need to run two instead of one. What information do I need to determine the required surface area and through flow to meet the demands of this motor? Does anyone have a formula or software to determine this info?

The turbos are T60-1 P trims with a .69 A/R. Each turbo supports 64 lbs/min. Max RPM is 6600. I would like to use a air to water unit. The turbos are designed for max effeciency at 20 PSI.

Make them as big as you can Honestly, you want to go as wide and as tall as you possibly can and keep the thickness down. That is the most efficent way. However that is typically not space friendly of course.

Bigger the better I am going to order up my cores this month! I am going with 2 4.5"x10"x18". That is as big as I think you can fit on a Camaro! Middle of each highbeam light, much bigger than the opening!

I am keeping each side apart and the Incon (***-pipe), I will have the cores welded together but the air will stay on it's side, and 2 HKS BOV on the tubes coming out the top tanks to the ***-pipe!

I don't know what the intercooler will give me on power?

Here is a spreadsheet I made that can do that. Go to the intercooler tab at the bottom and put in your flow rate. If you don't know it, use the turbo tab to figure it out. The turbo calcs were borrowed from the book "Turbochargers", and the intercooler calcs were borrowed from the book "Maximum Boost". The calculations on the rest of the pages are also borrowed from misc. published data that I have come across.

This setup works, I was gonna duplicate it for my 427 I just sold. I had the same exact motor as Monty. 1200 hp on pumpgas!!! Should be good for about 1000 hp on pumpgas with my little 347 now.

Wow nice motor setup but that intercooler looks too small! Doesn't intercooler size matter if the car will be a street car as it may heat up after a few hours of driving? And what % of the cooler sees direct air flow?
