Default Largest Motor For T-74

is this turbo too small for a 427? or would you guys just do a forged 348? more track than street but still want full street capability, like MM's car. i know that big cubes are awesome for NA and nitrous just wondering what you guys think about them for FI setups.

i have always thought the more cubes the better but not if you are compromising the strength of some parts to do it.

seem like in the FI world the iron 408 is the hot set up. you can do a iron 422 for about the same price but the extra stroke compromises the strength or angles of something, not exactly sure what. boring it more than 4.030 is usualy not recomended for a big power adder either.

dont really know what bore and stroke make a 427, i suppose it would depend if it was iron or aluminum or c5 block. if iron i would stick with a 408, for the others i dont know.

a 74 will go 700+rwhp, the more cubes you have the easier it will be to do it, the faster it will spool too. big cubes+turbo the only street ability issue i see is traction. keep the cam reasonable and it will drive like a dream.

Doesn't work quite that way.....a 427 will be not deliver the PR needed to keep the turbo in an efficient range. For max hp the 74 would peak higher with the smaller cube motor. With the 427 it will spool quick, but peak less due to backpressure and insiffcient PR's.

BTW, thats the same reason why a Supra can make almost 900rwhp out of a 74GTS efficiently, but we only make around 700-750 before the air becomes super heated.
