Default breaking the porcelain

anybody else doing this? my third ngk tr6 just did this.

the nose cracks all the way around and you can spin it on the electrode.

happend on #7 twice and #5 once. all of the plugs are relatively normal looking when i find these.

do i just need to move to a colder plug or wtf?

should i not expect tr6's to last 3k miles per set in my application?

thanks

You seriously need to put real fuel in it

A problem on turbo cars is than normal driving etc requires approx a Tr6. Anything colder with the compression level we run will carbon foul them and will need to be replaced often as they dont retain enough heat to self clean. At high boost levels the heat is a killer as the range from NA low compression to full boogie high boost is typically 1-2 heat ranges colder.
So, if you put 8s in you will be replacing them every few weeks. Or put a better fuel in it to run that boost level safely.

I am sure that MM, like me, makes sure they see heat often...to keep em clean MM i just switched to the tr6 from the autolite 103 but don't have enuff miles yet to tell ya anything. No reason for the switch...just wanted to see what the hype was about but the 103s served me well

I'll have to disagree about the TR8's. I put a set in my car when I built it in Febuary, and just last week pulled one out to check it and it was fine so I left them in.

I do agree about the fuel however. I definitely think good race fuel is safer than 93/alchy.

this last time when it happened it generated a misfire

at the time i was only running 14psi which i can do safely on pump gas only (i thought, runs strong, no pinging, no funny stuff on dyno graphs)
