Default PTK 76GTS track results

Hey guys I said I would post this when I had some time, well I got a break today. Anyhow you can see in the thread below what mods the car has done to it and dyno results at 18psi.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314072

Anyhow the new track results weren't anything special ET wise, he was able to only make 1 run and then the tranny broke at the line on the 2nd pass. According to him, it sounds like the first gear teeth on are gone in the tranny...hehe. Guess the stock T56 just can't handle alot of abuse...hehe

Anyhow, the results show the car is making good power.... His runs peaked at 20psi, on race fuel and ice water in the Intercooler.

60ft-1.73
1/8th- 6.70@117.70
1/4-10.13@150.29

I don't think he will be pushing the car much more, but you have to love that the LT1 is still giving the LS1 a run for the money in the FI world. I have offered to let him try my T88 at the same boost level, but he passed....oh well. At least we know the 76GTS is a peformer and still has more left in it. BTW, this time he lightened the car up some. Only 1/4 tank of gas, no spare and jack, rear seats taken out. Car orignally is 3680 with him in it and loaded. Probably 50-75lbs less this time, which of course makes a huge difference.

Exclamation

Good Lord. That is a crazy MPH . I wonder if a 389" motor would be too much for this kit with the 76GTS turbo?
Anticipating the final kit .

The DP is a 3" downpipe. Nothing special. I am not sure how much more this turbo could push with the 3" DP, but I am sure sooner or later someone will find out. I also know Mike Murillo went 8.90@155mph in a 3500 mustang and using a 3" DP as well, so their is some room still.

blackz93, you can see all the prices on www.forcedinductions.com

Speaking of the stock T56 breaking. Jose, would there be ANY strength difference between the T56 in that F-body and the 00'R T56 I have in my 97' Cobra (which also happens to have a PTK 76 GTS kit..lol)?

BTW---Car went on the dyno today. It is having ignition issues Car won't pull past 3800 and is fouling plugs like there is no tomorrow. On a semi-positive note, the car made 408rwhp@3800rpm, which is around 170-190rwhp more than the PTK 03' Cobra 76 GTS kit(which has the same turbo). Granted, that kit was running 8.5psi and mine is at 11.5. That being said...I don't think that turbo is making 60+rwhp per/lb at that boost level for that kind of a difference between the two. Maybe somehow the stock intake manifold(locked IMRC's) and cams are working with the 300+cfm heads.

To be honest with you I'm not sure if the 00R's T56 is the same unit s the F-body unit. I haven't paid much attention to the details of that tranny. As for the power #'s, well its hard to tell. What CR are you running. Also the boost makes a bit a difference.

Bizzzatch350, yeah the turbos have really taken off. My customer is going to take his car once again to the track this weekend, not sure what he is going to try different. I'm pretty sure he wasn't happy with the ET, since the 60ft sucked compared to his other run. I am hoping he will crank up the boost a little more....maybe 23-25psi ...hehe.
