i wouldnt use 5.3 heads on a 6.0 block with FI, you dont want the CR high.
use the 6.0 heads
might need to set up to a bigger head unit as well like an F1 whats your power goals

If you are going to stick with the SC, I agree with Smokin', go with the F1. Also ditch the ATI intercoolers for a good front mount and definatly add a custom pulley system or SDCE tensioner.

Also look at other similar set-up like BIGBOS and Evil F1, they should be able to tell you did and did not work for them.

Later,
Dave

John thanks for your reply. Would you recommend using my stock Maf over the granatelli unit.

Let me have any of your suggestions as to changes in my setup!
I have done most things that you have on your list and i would go with a different head also. The size of the chamber in a 5.3 head is way small so the dish in the pistons will have to be huge compared to a 6.0L head wich had a bigger chamber. You WILL have to step up to a bigger head unit... i believe there is only one person running 17 psi on a D1-SC...(NOGO) and his is on a 383..... but i have never seen anyone make that much boost with the stock POS twin intercoolers. Ditch them.... do a search many of us have done them.
For a big cubed motor like this why not look into the new LS2 90MM intake.... its cheap... around $250 and then buy the FAST 90MM TB for $489.... wich really brings it to $389 for you since you were going to pay to port the stock one.......

No wwhen you sat complete fuel system do you mean that you are going to run a standalone managment system??? or a impedence box to run the 80# injectors on a stock PCM???? Now one of th emost important things you for got......... DRIVETRAIN. How do you plan on putting the power to the ground.... and please dont tell me thru a 4L60E......

Default how much power

Thanks for all the great responses
From my understanding on the 5.3 head I'm going with from HPE it is a cnc'd head from someone who can customize the head with a larger cc chamber and that is what I will be getting. HPE is doing the whole long block with I mean every part and building it for 20# of boost.

I have addressed the head unit issue and ordered my kit with the F1 blower instead of the D1SC. I Not to crazy about cutting into the front bumper to mount a front mount intercooler. Nor do I have the Money right know. Maybe some time in the future. What is the bigger problem with the twin coolers? Is it they don't cool as well as a front mount? Or is it more they restict flow bad and make it harder to make boost?
This ls2 intake sounds really good are these avalible yet ? Who sells them Gm? I know the ls2 has some differences is this intake a complete bolt on or is some modification required?
I had planned on using the stock pcm. Is an impedence box required on injectors this large? and if so about how much?

As for the drivetrain I was going to go with a ford 9'' Should I stick with posi or go w/ a locker?
I currently selling my built 4l60, and getting a TH350. Who sells a well built Th350 At a decent price?

Thanks again for all your help you yall have already kept me from making a few mistakes!!
