Default 6.0L heads vs. stock...

Right now I have a used TTI T-66 kit getting ready to go into car...called Cam Motion, got a custom cam coming, got the Racetronix fuel sys, and I'm ready to start bolting stuff together...pulling motor out tonight to do a few things while I'm at it...my question is what advantage would there be to going to 6.0L heads...I know a lower compression ratio is more forced induction friendly, so what do you think I could gain by going to a set of stock 6.0L heads? Would it be worth it? I'm new to the forced induction world, and haven't quite figured everything out yet. Seems to me that the higher c/r would require less boost to create the same cylinder pressure, but on the other hand, a lower c/r would have essentially more "space" in there to cram more air and fuel in. Thanks for the help!

Go to the Turbo Calculator section, there is some good stuff in there to help you out.

would drop your compression a little bit.

I guess the main question is would it be advantageous in this situation to drop the c/r for more boost?

You'd be going from 67cc to ~70-72cc heads, so you could drop a quarter point to a half point. If you have the heads cheap, it can't hurt but stock 6.0's come with smaller exhaust valves so that won't help.

so would it be better to get the stock ls1 heads milled to 72cc as oppossed to going with the 6.0 head? Would milling the heads afect drivability?

thanks

Stock heads are 67cc's. Milling them would increase compression.
