STS kit is great, but I bought my P1SC and have also bought the SDCE kit and have had no problems since I have gotten all pulleys aligned. I think both are great and lots of fun. If I were to buy a kit today, I would go with a turbo.

ATI all the way. We can just sit at a light and turn heads. With the SDCE kit no slip and boost is plentiful. A D1 is good for over 15psi and can easily push 650 rwhp with the right internals, fuel and tuning. Turbos are great for printing out pretty dyno sheets. But on the street, Blowers are the way to go.

The question was for base P1SC or base STS.
Once you change that criteria, everything is fair game.

exactly, if he wants to see what my dyno turbo will do to his d1 I would be more then happy to if hes ever near me. And since I owned a 630+ d1 setup I know how bad he will be dusted All in fun btw

I'm going to go with the STS Setup for many reasons. I don't have screw with headers, and a GMMG exhaust. So that saves me like $1500 (I like the stainless headers). I don't have to worry about belt slippage or belts period.

Turbos produce way better power curves. Supercharger boost is linear. e.g. at 5000 RPM you will get 5lbs of boost. Once a turbo is spooled up it makes full boost. So at 3000 RPM I'm making for example 5lbs of boost. That's 2000 RPM sooner than the blower. So I'll be flying because the blower might be only making 3lbs at 3000 RPM... anyways...

I think if I had done headers and a GMMG, I'd definitely go for the ATI just because I wouldn't want to throw away my nice exhaust...

I've heard all these car guys talking **** about these STS kits. Even a guy down at The Dyno Shop who worked there was talking **** to me how ATI would be so much better. How STS doesn't work, and he "knows" someone with it who has nothing but problems and ungodly lag. I guess that award they got at SEMA was fake too...

I can hardly wait when I get it done I'll take it down there and make his jaw drop.

Hey PurEvl... do you have any videos of your car with the STS kit? The one dyno video you had with the ATI D1 was awesome

ATTENTION: If anyone in SoCal would like to give me a ride in their STS car let me know! I'll buy you lunch or something for your time! Any takers? I don't mind a good drive. If not I'm still going to buy it Just it would be icing on the cake to ride in one first hand.

I prefer the ATI because I don't want to change out my exhaust.

It looked like the STS would take it but here come the ATI trying to take the lead. This is a good race, that is going to be decided by the state of Idaho.

Yeah that would be sweet! Like RealQuick said... sweet but only for 3 seconds

I'm still waiting for someone to offer me a ride (I know it's only been a day)! Shoot - I offered lunch, do I have to seduce them as well? I'm hoping a free meal will cut it though...

Navy SS: I might have my setup done this Sunday, but I don't think I will be able to give a ride until maybe early next month. Also, I will probably baby it, I have a stock tranny and rear end. I KNOW I can break those with my setup. Ran out of money too fast to upgrade those.
FI is a very expensive hobby.

I have a set of Dynatech 1 7/8 headers. Are you telling me I can't use them with the STS kit? Is it pipe fit problems ore is there not enough backpressure? Someone please fill me in. I was thinking about buying an upgraded kit, but I don't want to run manifolds if I don't have to. I've got some 6.0 heads that flow very well, and I don't want to stifle them with stock manifolds.

Would I have to hack the kit up? What mods would have to be done? Alos, what would have to be modded for some SLP diamond-style subframe connectors? Could you give me a ballpark figure for modding the pipes and the upgraded turbo kit? You seem to be the closest dealer to me I'm in H-Town), and I might be making the drive to you shortly after Christmas? Do you take American Express? MTI wouldn't take it (had to call and have my credit limit upped so I could use the Visa ) Thanks!
