Intercooler question What websites can i go to that would give good info on a front mount intercooler for a TA, I plan on running an STS turbo over the summer, and im trying to get all my research done now so i can just do it...no questions asked. I hear that i can run high boost levels with a front mount, or any intercooler, and not run the methanol. Is that true aswell?

You'll find no better info than what you can gleam by doing a simple search in this very forum on FMIC or OBX FMIC.

Yes, you can run high boost with just the FMIC. Tat's what most people do. The meth is just an aid in further cooling and to help us people with low octane areas of the country. 91 octane sucks for FI

if you run high boost I would still run meth, ESPECIALLY on a stock bottom end... the only way I could see somebody running anymore than 9-10 pounds of boost on a stock bottom end is with spraying the hell out of it with meth. It's all about how your setup. If I were you, I'd still look into a meth setup and install a front mount. The front mount will drastically keep your intake temps down, this is good no matter how much boost your running. It's an excellent mod, and fairly cheap to boot! Bottom line, you've got limits with a stock bottom PERIOD. Don't look for more then 7-8 tops on the street without spraying meth.
