Z06 Cam

How much would my car benefit from a 04 Z06 cam? i have my hands on one and was wondering if it would be worth putting in or not. My mods are listed in my sig.

what else is done? headers? it will have some gain but not sure how much.... would have to look up the stock ls1 cam specs for a camaro....

just catback exhaust and intake thats all everything else is stock mass air and throttle body are also stock.

I did a Z06 cam and valve springs on my turbo LS1, and am having excellent results. The car idles at 700 rpm, and the engine doesn't sound half as stout as it actually is. I picked up the cam and springs used for $140. I think it makes a great basic turbo cam. I already had my motor out of the car, and the price was right.

If you have to go to the trouble of doing a cam swap as a separate project, it would probably be worth it to get a grind that matches your exact goals, rpm range, head flow characteristics, etc.

I don't have firm numbers but I wouldn't be suprised if you picked up 20rwhp. Headers would be nice but you know that.

20-30 hp sounds right, I was told est. 30hp gain by a sponsor when I looked into it before

I know my next mod should be headers but i really like the sound of manifolds on LS1's versus headers so i thought do a camshaft now and maybe headers later when i get a set of 6.0 heads ported. Thanks for all the info

for the money a z 06 cam is a great cam to go with in f.i. peak hp isn't the only thing to measure when looking at the numbers , its area under the curve.
