What stall for a supercharger

Default What stall for a supercharger

I was just wondering what kinda of stall would you want with a supercharger? I know with nitrous you normally want a lower stall and with NA you want a big big stall. What about supercharged applications?

drew, my stall is gonna change anyways. I want to get a th-400 next...I can feel the 4l60e crapping out on me already. Sometimes it wont shift, it doesntknow what gear its in, its just crapping out. Sometime in 2005 I want an ATI Procharger D-1SC kit. But Im wondering what stall I will need to get.

i WAS running a 4l60e and i was running a TCI ssf 3500 stall and it was fun.... but i could never get ti to take the power......

I have a TP4400, it worked great on my 382 na 1.45 60'. With the Ttrim Vortech it is too loose,it hits way too hard off the line( it`ll pull the front tires for agout 20' and then smoke the slicks). I`m having Mike@Yank tighten it up 500-600rpms. 3500 to 3800 should work best. I`ve been using a Century 4L60E for 4 years + lots of racing, they have 4 cars running low 9sec, suposed to be good for 750rwhp.

so probably a 3600 would be good for forced induction?

Well, how you plan to take the engine? 6500?

Rule of thumb is you go smaller for a car that never sees the track, and is always on radials.

Personally, if I was going to the track a fair amount, I would go 4000 stall up to 4500.

john...my car right now is daily driven BUT I only drive 2-3 miles a day to school and work. I could drive a top fuel funny car to work and school if i had to, i dont care about streetability. With my setup now, my limiter is set at 6200 rpm. I have a 3200 stall and its not big enough for me. I cant launch at what I would like to. The 4L60E is on the verge of crapping out. Next will be a th-400, rmvb, transbrake. But, I just dont know what stall to get. I am pretty sure that I will never run nitrous on the car. It will either be NA or Forced induction, preferably a procharger.

I have had a 4000 stall in my head for a while. Im thinking that would be good for the car now as well as my future plans. I would like to get the th-400 and a nice set of ported heads and maybe see 10s NA.

....just trying to think ahead!
