Default Turbo header sizing

I have a few more questions:

1. How much power would I be giving up by using 1 5/8" headers that merge into 2.5" collectors (which will merge into a single 3" pipe before entering the turbo)with my 383LT1 T76 turbo project? Do I need to go 1 3/4" primaries that merge into a 3" pipe for each headers, and will it make a huge difference? I have AFR210's on my 383LT1 and I would like to make 700rwhp on 15psi (w/ 93 octane).

2. Anyone out there using 1 5/8"? The reason I ask is because it seems as though there are alot more header options with 1 5/8" primaries. What kind of power and combo are you running?

3. Are D port headers necessary? Some headers like SLP's arent necessarily D port if I remember correctly (when you actually look at them), so does it even matter?

Anyone feel free to answer (LS1 or LT1). The size primaries are my major concern.
