Default LT1 PCV Idea w/STS system? What do ya think!

OK, On a Stock LT1 there is a vent tube that plugs into the Back of the Passenger side valve cover! That line goes right into the side of the Throttle Body on stock LT1's. There Is NO PCV valve its just open lines! There is a PCV valve that is looped on the Drivers side of the Intake Manifold BUT I am not sure if it affects this Idea at all?

With The STS System they have You plug the Fitting on the Throttle Body and Place a filter vent cap on the valve cover!

After reading all the Catch Can set ups you guys run I came up with this Idea which is just actually something I think I stole from someone else. Could I run a vent line from the Back of the passengers side of the valve cover (where the stock one was) threw a catch can and all the way back to the Intake PIPE before the turbo? I know it would be a LONG line BUT I think it would be easy to do.

DO you think I would need a check valve and if so why? the Stock vent line had no check valve and had no PCV valve in it? SO, tell me what ya think?

Thanks, Lata, Ark

You could do that. I've thought about it too... It wouldn't pull as much at idle as the stock system because you won't have vacuum back there, but it would pull a fair amount at wot. And it's just as good as a vent to the atmosphere, maybe a little better, at idle.

are you going to be installing the maf drawthrough at the back of the car too? if you are going to vent that line, it should be metered air like it was stock.

YA I spoke with Rick at STS and he Explaned that the Air comes threw the MAf, Its pulled threw the Passenger side Valve Cover and then threw the Intake on the Drivers side to the PCV. HE also SAID LS1's were much more sensative in this area than LT1's. HE said that The LT1 would not be affected BY NOT pulling the Air threw the maf as the LS1's would? HE Talked about piping it into the exaust from the Passenger side cover with some type of Valve? HE said that might work better? This is a verry confusing thing to figure out? Thats why I was looking for help from you guys?
