LS1 internals under boost - reliability ?
I'm totally new to this forum. I'm thinking about getting a C5 Corvette now that the prices have dropped to a reasonable level (its ride comfort will be like a Lexus compared to my RX-7, and hopefully with some boost it'll be as quick) - my main concern is that if I get the Corvette and put some reasonable boost into it (7 psi twin-intercooled supercharger), how strong are the stock internals? I know it wasn't built for forced induction, but I also know that Corvettes are built to last, they're not just some slapped together econo-car for revenue.
What are your experiences?
Compared to tb/intake/exhaust/h-pipe/header/408ci shortblock/ported head with cams (thinking SLP's setup), what are the gains?
Any information would be welcome, thanks in advance.
if you get a new motor, make sure you get specific pistons for boost, and you should have no problem running 15-25 lbs.
