Going to the dyno. need help before 1/22/05 Ok, i'm going to a dyno on Sat. I have HPtuner v1.6. I'm currently seeing a lot of KR, my ltrims are totally messed up and the truck doesn't have consistant power. I know we need to adjust the PE vs rpm to get my air/fuel in check. What else? Do we maybe need to adjust timing? Is air/fuel what we should tune for first?
OH, and what should be my target air/fuel ratio? I also have a SMC alcohol kit which is currently turned off.
Can someone tell me step by step what I need to do on the dyno to tune this? I'd like to get as much power out of it as I safely can. It seems like the alcohol only messes with my air/fuel.

I would probably shoot for around 11:5 A/F (or maybe 11:0). Since your now having KR you will probably have to pull some timing. Going richer also can help with KR also. You will probably have to feel your way with the A/F & timing to get it down. The PE vs RPM table is the main thing to play with at WOT. I found my max timing without KR (which was 16 degrees) and then turned on the alky which allowed me to take it to 21 degrees. I made no A/F changes with the alky added. I'm not saying its not something that maybe I should look at but simply adding alky onto the non-alky tune gave me a nice power boost by allowing the additional timing with no driveability issues.
