turbo kits? Iam Between A D1sc Or A Sts Turbe, Are There Any Other Turbo Kits Worth Looking At Without Braking My Wallet And Too Much Customizing? Involved? Iam Looking To Have At Least 550rwhp. Wich Is Cheaper?
I don't own either, but I have been doing quite a bit of research. I know you can get a D1SC installed and tuned for $7000. The base STS kit is $4000, but to obtain your goal of 550rwhp you will need to upgrade to the GT67 turbo and your fuel system. An intercooler or meth injection would also be a necessity. Running 8psi with that kit should give you around your goal, and your torque will be amazing. The STS seems to be the best bet. I am leaning towards getting the STS big time. I am by no means an expert just putting in my $.02.
All other turbo kits I have looked into are much more expensive, and require much more work(removing AC, moving around stuff, etc etc) but these kits seem to put out some serious numbers. They also suggest that they go on built engines as the STS seems it would works perfectly on a stock engine..
