Loud squeeling when I let out quickly while under boost
Loud squeeling when I let out quickly while under boost Sometimes when I let out of the throttle before a shift when Im making 8+ pounds of boost it sounds like the belt is squeeling. I have a racing bypass valve that is not vented to atmosphere and it doesnt sound like the "swoosh" sound of blowoff valves Ive heard. What could be causing this? Is it possible that I have some belt slip and only hear it sometimes or is this a bigger problem associated with the bypass valve? This is on a non intercooled vortech that makes 9-10 pounds of boost at 5800 turning the blower to its 50K max.

i would have to say that the belt is indeed slipping. from the slipping belts that i have heard, they do make a high pitched squealing sound. it doesnt sound good at all especially if somebody else hears it

Look for belt dust on the pulley area. My Vortech on my Mustang did that sometimes.
