I am using Napa 8 rib and have blown (not shredded) 2 apart on my F1R setup. This is on a 6 speed and the belt has torn apart both times at high RPM with tension, then no tension, then tension again. Anyone run into this issue before? Is the belt perhaps too tight?

Check to see if tensioner pulley may contact opposite belt when tensioner springs way out. Normally 2 belt contact or slack/whipsaw breaks belts.

I just ordered a couple of Gates Green Stripe belts. These are stronger that the Napa belts I am using according to the distributor. Anyone else have experience (good or bad) with the green stripes? I saw some positive feedback from some posts after asearch but it does not seem like there are many people using these belts.

What length belt do you run? Are you wiping out the ribs or snapping the belt or ???

I run 41.5" 8 rib belts.

I use the Goodyear, Poly V belt 40", ribs are split both ways. The double splits makes the belt bend better around the pulleys.

I run an 080893 napa belt. The belts are snapped in half. I am using the ECS bracket. Belts seem to come apart on shifting, missed shift, rev limiter, traction control situations. Although I have not seen all these types of situations, the tension-no tension-tension situations are breaking belts. I think the tensioner may be too tight.

I was told that although Gates makes the Napa belt, it may not be created equal. The Napa is the "same" as the Gates micro-v, but the green stripe is Gates' heavier duty micro-v.

your 'distributor' is wrong... the napa golds are gates green stripes made for napa.. 100% the same belt.

Well then I recommend getting the Green Stripe belt rather than the Napa belt. I bought my green stripe for $33 and the napas are almost $50.
