Intake for 20+/- PSI
Looks like the intake choice is up in the air. Some have seen more power some haven’t. One thing seems to hold true and that is if you are spinning the motor past 6000 and I plan in spinning this to about 7200 that the fast 90mm combo is good for about 20-40 rwhp. Normally I wouldn’t even worry about it accept for the fact that I have ported my ls6 heavily to the point of very thing walls around the end of the intake runners where they meet my intake port and have actually gone through slightly around the injector bosses. I fixed it with JB weld but I don’t know if it will hold the boost. That was not my original intention when I decided do port it. Based on the thin walls and jb weld I don’t think this intake would be a good alternative.
What we are faced with is this
Another ls6 untouched for $350-400
An lsx 78 mm (my stock tb will bolt up and it has already been ported) for $725-785
An lsx 90 mm for about 1150-1200 (with tb)
A pimp *** sheet metal intake with a big *** tb for mad duckets$$$$$$$.
I guess it really comes down to what will hold the boost. The ls6 will definitely hold the boost as it is a one piece design. I have heard conflicting things about the lsx. Obviously a sheet metal will hold the boost.
What do you guys think?
If it holds the pressure run what you got. If the car sneezes in will probably be shradded though.
Just my opinion.
