Default Changing lobe separation

Hey -- this isn't for an LS1, but it can be thought of that way I guess. I'm running a 2.3L GM Quad4 engine, and I had Engle custom grind me some cams. I'm considering altering the mechanical timing on them to try and change the lobe separation. If I remember the specs correctly, I'm running 238* on both cams at .050 and .420" lift. The cams are ground on 112 LSA, and I believe there is about 4* of overlap as they are now. It's a turbocharged engine running 20+ psi. The head breathes really well (almost 300cfm intake, and I think about 280cfm exhaust). The car will redline at about 8000 rpm. Any suggestions for when the new engine goes together? Thanks!

Well, if all your #'s are at .050, you have 14 deg of overlap @.050.

I would personally try them as they are ground. That amt of overlap/duration seems reasonable considering the 8k rpm limit.

Do you have the cam card(s) Or do you know the intake and exhaust cam centerlines?

I assume you have adjustable cam gears?

I've got the cam card, which has all the information, but I sent it to CP pistons. I don't have adjustable gears, but I am considering buying them if I think it will help me a good bit. I need to make sure those specs are correct on the cams, so I guess I'll call Engle tomorrow. Thanks!
