I was just thinking when i saw how many people have viewed this thread... (11,193) When you lay down some good power numbers and some good track times to back up the HP this is going to do wonders for Phamspeeds Buisness...
Just a thought

Thanks for answering guys.I realize its not a kit intercooler just a core but I was after the end tank outlet sizes so if three inch fits good under the cars then three inch is fine.common enough size.

So 900 hp potential that is again rwhp or engine hp but of course its way more than I would every need on a mosty street car.

So armaggedon if I read the posts right your car is down as you fix a headgasket problem so you never really had a chance yet to see how it runs at some different boost levels.

And guess you guys can' answer how quick this thing spools up I know it depends on compression, rear gearing, displacement, flywheel weight lots of things but would like a rough idea when you get one.I would think on v8 it should be all in by 4000 or a bit less and you should be feeling it by mabye 2500 to 3000 tops..I guess phamspeed can give more actual hands on about his basic turbo. His site is messed though I also get x's and it takes forever to try to load things up.

Phamspeed why don't you really go into a bit more detail about this particular turbo I for one am getting pretty interested.

Also I would hope that don't have to go with twin pumps and all that.I think racetronix said their system will support a lot more soon with something they are adding on and with no need to change fuel rails or any of that stuff.
I just want to keep this simple..60 injectors are likely a good choice I would think 42 would be too small for much over 500rwhp.

You can hear in the video how quickly the turbo spools. I'm just running the wastegate right now with a 5.7 spring in it. It has full boost by 3000-3500 depending on gear. That was with a T70. I posted my fuel setup in the last post to answer any fueling questions. You can do what you want with a fuel setup... but don't cut corners.

Oh I see you have a 6 litre so that will help spool a bit too and how is your turbo different from the one in the phamspeed kit is it much bigger or what?

Sorry about all the questions guys but I really might do the turbo thing this year.I was so close to ordering an sts as buddy was picking up a dealership but their markup was not so great and by time added the bigger turbo upgrade, meth and few other things like blow off and all it started to get pricey.

I am leaning back to front mount and a bit of fabbing cold side don't worry me in the least.

Other option is to maybe just throw some heads on my ta already have a b1 cam and have a 5177 dry kit new in the box but turbos are just so much darn fun and hard to beat the sound of them spooling up.I never get sick of my
modded up talon. But you can't beat v8 with turbos...

I think the GT42 is like a T72.
The only reason I am running dual pumps is cause it's been proven many times. So no you don't have to run it that way.

Hey Armageddon, this is what I want to do with my setup. Do you have any problems with in cabin exhaust fumes at traffic lights and when not moving?

what EXACTLY is not included in this kit? And when you get this kit, is there some type of instructions on how to install it, or do you basically just have to figure it out on how to install it?

GT42's use a 74mm or 76mm inducer, and both will support upwards of 900 RWHP.

Can you put an intercooler behind the bumper on a camaro without having to cut ANYTHING?? I REALLY dont want to do that.

Also, If the motor is stock how high of an injector would you put on there when your only aim is for 450 or so. whatever is pretty dang safe.

Also, what is the difference between a blow off valve, and a wastegate? Do you need both?

Actually the GT42 is a 70mm and 74mm coming from Garrett. PTE makes a GT42-76 which is a hybrid from PTE. The price jumps up considerably though.

Does this kit have the......spots for both????? I know it comes with the wastegate, so obviously it'll have a place for that, but what about the blow off valve?

Oh yeah, and what about the other questions that werent answered from my post a couple posts up. <-------Wasnt meant to sound crappy or anything.

The BOV will have to be placed by you as you will have to do the IC pipes yourself or have someone fab em up for you. You are correct about the WG, its already to go.

So, how do you make the blow off valve work? I meen isnt there hoses that you have to connect to both the blow off valve, AND the wastegate to make them function?

Sorry, im new to this stuff. And what would you use to control the boost? I know i would want boost guages, but what would you use.

Im going to bed now, so ill check this in the morning.

Thanks guys

You'd hook into any vacuum source, good place being to tee off the hose going to the brake booster, that can be a tap for all your boost controlled pieces...i.e...BOV, WG, Boost guage, rising rate FP regulator..

To control the boost, you use the WG itself or get a boost controller from Turbosmart, apexi, HKS, turboxs...it goes on and on. You can really get carried away with em and their features.

think the front bumper support(that foam thing) has to be removed...figure 28s or 30lbers would work for his 500rwhp goal stockers are good for a lil over 400rwhp i think unless you got a 98 model w/ the 28.8lbers
