Picking a S/C

Question Picking a S/C

How much boost can I run? in a 1998 trans am all stock nothing has been changed. i was thinking of a ATI ProCharger or Vortech. It still needs to be a every day driver. what else do you think i will have to change to make my car last for a long time use. i put 60 miles on it a day.

Go with a ATI Procharger D1SC and you will be fine, look to run 6psi of boost or 9psi if you also want to buy fuel system components and tuning software.

Vortech kits make 400-475rwhp all day long with headers.

I love this. Every time someone gets an F-body they want to supercharge it. Not heads and cam. I did it. I know a lot of you have done it.

Hey BlackHawk 1998. If you do the blower right without cracking the motor open for a cam or heads or headers you will spend at least $10,000 from blower clutch, DS, Rear end and fuel system.

Who says he needs all that? What if he wants more power then a H/C car..more then likely better drivability... better mpg... and get it from a simple bolt on SC & tune? Not to mention the way you make it sound its like youre saying a H/C car wont blow a 10 bolt, DS, or clutch?

BTW.. Ive seen a bone stock 01 Firehawk put down 460rwhp with a ATI Procharger D1SC kit + injectors and tuning.. through stock manifolds, cats, and full stock exhaust.
