By defination, 2 step means you set one RPM limit for standing lunch, usually activated by holding a line lock or similar button connected to the control module. The second step would be you're topend limiter. You definately don't want to be hitting your factory limiter on boost @ the line. Not a good idea. Considering the factory computer pulls timing AND FUEL, it's really not a good idea. Besides, I don't think the factory computer cuts spark to each cylinder and then fires it on the next compression stroke to keep it from extra loading the cylinder. AT anyrate...not cool or good, unless you like breaking stuff.

So because the computer pulls FUEL, that is the bad thing? Maybe Harlan will see this and be able to explain. Thanks for the replies. I thought a 2step pulls timing and adds fuel to create load..

A two step, yes...something on like a BS3, but not the FACTORY computer. The factory computer will just pull fuel in an attempt to keep the engine from over reving, now it does pull timing back too, but it does not CUT timing. There's a difference.
