Serpenteen belt problems w/Vortech
I have a 98 LS1 T/A.
I had the Vortech installed a while back.
In the past few months my main serpenteen belt keeps coming off.
This is the third time.
I am about ready to rip the entire system out and put it back to stock.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brett

That is a very rare problem with the Vortech kit.
Email jsnee@vortechsuperchargers.com and see what he can do. Are you near them, they are in socal.

You said main belt. I assume you mean the accy belt for the engine not the blower belt. There are no tensioners to adjust on either belt.
I used to have problems throwing my main belt when running a short belt to bypass P.S. I have never had a problem with the factory belt arrangement in tact. I would take a good look at the crank pulley. Make sure it is tight, as they will spin on the crank snout and damage the crank if left loose. Also make sure it is fully seated.
If you are talking about the blower belt, then something is not aligned properly. The Vortech belt setup is very good, but the crank really needs to be keyed or pinned to keep the heavy ATI damper from spinning.
